Hammer Patrol

The first day is underway. Most of the first years are in the Hammer Patrol. Worth Ranch is known as the Hammer because of its shape. The Brazos wraps around the camp with the land jutting out to look like the head of the hammer.

The purpose of the Hammer Patrol is to teach first year scouts basic scouting skills. Knots, First Aid and the Patrol Method. Unfortunately for me, it is in the bottoms. I bravely rode my mountain bike down Crawford's Way to check in on our scouts. It is a steep paved road that will quickly bring you to the river. Little Troop 5 was actually paying attention and learning scout skills. I took some pics and had a wonderful climb UP Crawford's Way on the bike.

  2. You guys do look sharp, at the very least you should be giving some other troops a run for their money.
